Aliases Manager The Aliases Manager, pictured at right, controls mail forwarding and
mailing lists on the Virtual Server. You can get to this manager by choosing
the "Mail" tab in the ACE main window. A second row of tabs will appear;
click on "Aliases".
Adding an aliasTo add an alias, click the "Add" button. A dialog, like the one to the right, will appear. Enter a name for the alias in the "Alias:" text field. Mail sent to this name will trigger the alias. Next, enter the destination addresses for the alias in the address list. The addresses are the list of e-mail addresses or programs (such as an autoresponder) that will receive mail that is sent to the alias. To add an address or program to the list, type the information into the "New Address:" text field and then click the "Add" button. Do this for every address that you want to have as a part of the alias. If you mistakenly add an incorrect recipient, select the incorrect address from the address list and click on the "Remove" button. To modify an address, remove it and then add the correct address. Once you are done entering the addresses, click the "Apply" button to actually add the alias to the Virtual Server. If you decide you don't want to add the alias or wish to back out, simply click "Cancel" to dismiss the dialog without making any changes.
Modifying an alias To modify an alias, select the alias you wish to modify from the combo
box labelled "Alias:". The alias' destination addresses will be displayed
in the "Address List" area, as shown in the example to the right. Once you've chosen an alias to modify, click on the "Modify" button.
The dialog to the right will
Removing an aliasTo remove an alias, select the alias you wish to remove from the combo box, as you would do if you were going to modify the alias. Click on the "Remove" button. A dialog like the one below will appear, asking you if you want to delete the selected alias.
Clicking on the "Yes" button causes ACE to remove the alias. Clicking on the "No" button causes ACE to abandon this action without making any changes to your Virtual Server. Note: If you remove an alias which has an autoresponder in it, ACE will not remove any files associated with the autoresponder. If you no longer need or want the response file(s) associated with an autoresponder, you can use the file manager to delete them.
